Reformed Baptist—What does it mean?
We are described as "Reformed" because we uphold the principles taught during the Reformation expressed in the five solas and later summarized systematically in the 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith. These reformed and baptistic principles were commonly held among the earliest Baptists.
We are described as "Baptist" due to our adherence to Baptist Distinctives such as the authority of the Scriptures, autonomy of the local church, baptism of believers by immersion in water, the priesthood of all believers, and we support evangelism according to biblical means.
As "Reformed Baptists" we are governed by the Word of God alone. We believe in the inspiration and sufficiency of the Scriptures as our only guide for faith and practice. We desire the entirety of our lives to be patterned after and conformed to the Word of God. We focus on the centrality of expository preaching, teach the Doctrines of Grace, practice the regulative principle of worship, evangelize the lost through the outward and ordinary means of Grace and fully subscribe to the 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith.
