Our Worship
Regulative Principle
We believe the only worship we should offer to God is that which He commands as the Infinite, Eternal and Unchangeable God of all Glory. We seek to practice informed worship that promotes only those practices which God clearly requires in His Word. Many traditions of ancient and contemporary practice are little more than the vain inventions of men and not true worship. Thus, desiring to worship God in Spirit and in Truth, we have searched the Scriptures in order to offer worship that is biblical and acceptable to God.
Reverent, Simple, and Orderly
The worship service is conducted in a reverent, simple and orderly manner.
Our services begin and close with a moment of reflection as people prepare their hearts and minds for worship. There is Scripture reading, singing from our hymnal, preaching and prayer. Worship is purposed as a means of grace engaging all the faculties of a person in praising and serving God.
Psalms, Hymns, and Spiritual Songs
We have chosen the Baptist version (Blue) of the Trinity hymnal due to its orthodoxy and fidelity to the Scriptures. The Blue Trinity provides us an informed source of psalms, hymns and spiritual songs by which we worship God in Spirit and Truth.
Centrality of Preaching
We uphold the "Primacy of Preaching" as the central activity of our worship service. We believe that preaching, which is the explanation and application of Scripture, is the primary means by which God calls sinners to repentance and saints unto progressive sanctification.
Centrality of the Bible
We believe the Bible is the inerrant, infallible and plenary inspired Word of God. As such it commands the central and guiding course of our worship service. In our Sunday morning worship there are typically three readings from the Scriptures. The Bible is our only rule for faith and practice and we uphold the Reformed doctrine of Sola Scriptura.
Importance of Prayer
Intelligible, spiritual prayer is a vital element of true worship and is included in our Sunday School as well as our worship service.
